The Belanger Hotel was selected for the prestigious international interior design competition, the Angelo Donghia Foundation amongst twelve of North America's emerging designers.

The inspiration and concept was to celebrate the new Romantics and add softness and poetry to a busy urban core. A two tiered garden with 6' peony hedges add privacy, an ambient water feature is placed on the upper level with an intimate outdoor lounge and fire places, as well as a Bisazza rose tiled feature floor for guests. Vertical vines added down the historical facade merge the old with the new providing a living green space.

A sculptural addition is designed with modular rose tinted reflective glass bricks. A central curved spiral stairs of the two storey building adjoins to the hotel. Providing the opportunity for an exceptional culinary experience and room service.

The name Elysium is given to the restaurant and bar. Elysium is defined as a place or state of perfect happiness, ideally offering High Tea, Pastries, Modern French cuisine and Oyster Wine bar.

Included in the concept is Tesla car and bicycle service, a lower level spa, Fleur du Mal high end lingerie, a signature perfumery and jewelry store. Custom marble counter tops are designed by abstracting the sacred geometry of a rose petal. The cocktail bar and lounge open to the intimate private garden.

Art is carefully chosen throughout and features Canadian artists such as Andy Dixon and James Lahey. A hybrid of classical furniture, contemporary light features, marble and herringbone flooring and decadent tile are some of the many features carefully designed to provide the suites an elegant and opulent user ambient experience.
